The mission
Ending hunger
In short
EAT, the first cause on WYDE, funds hunger relief from $EAT trading fees: 0.25% of every trade goes to the hunger-relief treasury, split between Feed the Children and a community-voted pool. As of 5 November 2026 it had funded 74,108 meals, toward a long-term goal of 1 billion.

The first cause on WYDE is hunger, and EAT is the ecosystem built for it. Its idea: Everybody EATs. Its mission, in three words:
Hunger. Ends. Here.
The problem
- 48 million people in the U.S. experience food insecurity, Feeding America reports on its Hunger in America page.
- 1 in 5 children, 14 million kids, may not be able to get the food they need, the same page says, citing the USDA report Household Food Security in the United States in 2024.
Hunger was chosen as the first cause because it is a problem with clear metrics and immediate relevance: you can count meals.
How trade becomes meals
Every $EAT trade pays a 1% fee, and a quarter of it, 0.25% of the trade, goes to the hunger-relief treasury. EAT Card spending also funds the cause from card fees that stores already pay; EAT has not published what share of card spending reaches the hunger-relief treasury (see The EAT Card). The team uses a deliberately conservative conversion:
The conservative aggregate we use is $1 equals 5 meals, which is below Feeding America's published figure.
The partners
The hunger-relief share splits 50/50 (per the Hunger Network white paper):
- Feed the Children is the exclusive national partner (a 501(c)(3)), under an 18-month grant agreement effective April 1, 2026, with a $50,000 minimum guarantee. The partnership was announced on April 8, 2026.
- A community pool is set aside for verified hunger-relief 501(c)(3)s chosen by community vote on a curated ballot (the Hunger Network). As of 5 November 2026 the first ballot had not been announced. See Governance and the DUNA.
The 1 billion meal goal
Funding 1 billion meals is the long-horizon mission, not the year-one target. WYDE's briefing and whitepaper tie the token to it: $EAT unlocks as these meal milestones are reached (see the vesting ladder), and each milestone releases 16 billion $EAT. WYDE's custody framework describes a different, date-based schedule, so the unlock is unconfirmed; see Tokenomics and fees.
| Milestone | Meals funded | Published target date |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | 100,000,000 | Dec 1, 2027 |
| M2 | 250,000,000 | Aug 1, 2028 |
| M3 | 500,000,000 | Jun 1, 2030 |
| M4 | 750,000,000 | Jul 1, 2032 |
| M5 | 1,000,000,000 | Dec 1, 2033 |
Per WYDE Research's Path to 1 Billion Meals (a 20,000-scenario Monte Carlo model), the base case reaches M1 around September 2027 and M5 around June 2033; the published dates above are deliberately set a little more conservative. The single biggest lever on the timeline is centralized-exchange performance, far more than the card or any other channel.
Progress so far
Meals funded since the December 2025 launch:
- Early April 2026: 18,700+ meals.
- Late May 2026: 51,600+ meals.
- 5 November 2026: 74,108 meals, from $14,821.73 of hunger-relief fees.
How it is counted: the hunger-relief share of $EAT trading fees, in dollars when earned, times 5. The fees are on-chain, so the count only climbs and can be checked. It is a count of meals funded, not meals delivered; partners report delivery separately, and no delivered-meal total has been published yet. The next milestone shown on the $EAT page and fund.eat.ong is 100,000 meals.
eat.ong: more than a tracker
eat.ong is the public home of the hunger mission. Beyond the meal tracker, it offers:
- Find help — the Hunger Network directory lets people search for hunger-relief organizations near them. See Find food help.
- Back the network — trade $EAT, which funds meals with every trade.
- Spend with purpose — use the EAT Card.
- Create or give meals — paid programs for creators, clippers and restaurants. See EAT for creators and restaurants.
The Hunger Cup
The Hunger Cup turns attention into meals. It is a charitable competition run on X (@wydeorg) where countries compete to fund the most meals.
16 COUNTRIES. ONE OFFICIAL VOTE.
RETWEET TO FEED. Your attention has power. Your retweet has impact.
How it works
- 16 countries compete in a tournament bracket, from the Round of 16 through the Finals.
- Each country is paired with a food-security nonprofit.
- You vote by retweeting the official post for your country from @wydeorg.
- The country with the most retweets advances.
The live pot
Funding comes from $EAT trade volume, which fills a pot that the winning nonprofit receives. So the competition does two things at once: it rallies attention (retweets) and it channels real trading fees into a transparent meal pot.
Receipts documenting meals funded are published after blockchain proof on Base.
How to take part
- Go to the official @wydeorg thread on X.
- Find your country in the reply thread.
- Reply with your country flag and retweet the official response.
- One vote. Real impact.
